چکیده

Given two noncommuting matrices, A and B, it is well known that AB and BA have the same trace. This extends to cyclic permutations of products of A’s and B’s. It is shown here that for 2 × 2 matrices A and B, whose elements are independent random variables with standard normal distributions, the probability that Tr(ABAB) > Tr(AB) is exactly 1 √ 2 .

On the Formal Differentiation of Traces and Determinants.

A compact notation for obtaining and handling matrices of partial derivatives is suggested in an attempt to generalize "symbolic vector differentiation" to matrices of independent variables. The proposed technique differs from methods advocated by Dwyer and MacPhail (1948) and Wrobleski (1963) in several respects, notably in a deliberate limitation on the classes of scalar functions considered:...

Derivation of a Matrix Product Representation for the Asymmetric Exclusion Process from Algebraic Bethe Ansatz

We derive, using the algebraic Bethe Ansatz, a generalized Matrix Product Ansatz for the asymmetric exclusion process (ASEP) on a one-dimensional periodic lattice. In this Matrix Product Ansatz, the components of the eigenvectors of the ASEP Markov matrix can be expressed as traces of products of non-commuting operators. We derive the relations between the operators involved and show that they ...

Breakdown of Universality in Random Matrix Models

We calculate smoothed correlators for a large random matrix model with a potential containing products of two traces trW1(M) ·trW2(M) in addition to a single trace trV (M). Connected correlation function of density eigenvalues receives corrections besides the universal part derived by Brézin and Zee and it is no longer universal in a strong sense. On leave of absence from National Laboratory fo...

Review and Prioritization of Various Advertisement Methods by Meat Products Matrix Analytic Hierarchy Method (AHP): A Case Study of Sausages Products

Advertising is not only as a tool to increase company sales. Fast development of mass communication tools and added new mediums to advertising media have been introduced the advertising as a key element in the success or failure of a company. Due to the intense competition between companies and the fast growth of markets and changes in consumer behavior, advertising is taken into consideration ...

Error Bounds and Asymptotic Expansions for Toeplitz Product Functionals of Unbounded Spectra∗

This paper establishes error orders for integral limit approximations to traces of powers (to the p’th order) of products of Toeplitz matrices. Such products arise frequently in the analysis of stationary time series and in the development of asymptotic expansions. The elements of the matrices are Fourier transforms of functions which we allow to be bounded, unbounded, or even to vanish on [−π,...
